8/14 - new beginnings

Well we pulled the trigger and the sleepy irresponsible day nurse is off our case. The agency said they were terminating her but her sister told me she starts a new case on Monday. That is kind of frustrating but none of my business I guess. A new nurse is training today. She is a young LPN with Trach experience. She is going to ISU to be an RN. The first impression was good. So hopefully she works out! She will work mwf. Then t/th and every other Saturday. We will have an older without much experience nurse. So far she seems pretty good. It will be a draining week of training but hopefully worth it. 

The Gibby is going ok. He still sneaks bites in but we see improvement. His new helmet is going really well so far. Today is his first 23 hour day so hope he can do it! 

Next week he has no scheduled appointments so I hope it is not a bad sign that he will have an emergency appointment. He has never had a whole week without seeing anyone.
