Leo's health has been doing much better since his short hospital stay. We never really found out for sure what he really had but after some antibiotics and a couple weeks of taking it easy, he is back to his normal self.
Some good news on the nursing front - our nurses were notified last Thursday that their 17% pay cut that took effect in May has been suspended and they will receive back pay all the way back to July 1st. It doesn't help that they still took a cut for May and June but hey, it is definitely a step in the right direction. Still no State budget so still not exactly sure where the funding is coming from but positive. It helped put the nurses at ease and calmed the panic in our house about all of our nurses leaving us to find other jobs. Knock on wood that this trend continues.
On Saturday, we went camping with some friends and even Grandpa Gene came to visit. Leo even came out to the campground and was able to stay outside for 6+ hours. He did so well, this is a new record for him - he made us so happy that we could spend time outside as a family. Below is a picture of him relaxing on his cot outside under the awning of the camper.
And for keeping busy, just about every day it seems like Sammie is enjoying all that summer has to offer. Below is a pic with her and her friend eating Grady's ice cream.
