Leo is being Rambo for Haloween...not really... Just a baby with an IV in his head.
He is still on 3 liters if 02 and has higher vent settings than normal. I assume he needs to ween off that before we can go home.
The rest of our week was also a challenge. On Monday we left for Chicago at 9:00am to see his eye doc . It was a 3mo follow-up but he also appeared to have a scratch and redness in his left eye that needed checked out. The ride was horrible. About an hour in he started throwing up and afterward he couldn't maintain his stats so we had to bag him and give 02 in the car. His eye was more severe than we thought. She said his cornea had scarring and starting to get infected. She put him on a strong antibiodic eye drop and more lubricant.
His eye got worse on Tuesday. He developed fluid around his iris that moved with his head. I called the on call doc in Chicago and texted pics. She wanted me to bring him in but that couldn't happen with his respiratory issues. She bumped up the antibiotic and said we needed an eye doc to culture the eye and make a special medicine for his bacteria. Well that is challenging when you are on the way to the ER. They finally got an opthmologist in the hospital to see him at 8:00pm he was not easy to work with but changed the medicine around again. He said we need to get a specialist in here today....easier said than done :(. Good news is the infection looks better this morning! The abrasion/scarring still looks bad and he still has the weird fluid but at least moving in the right direction.
Prayers we find the right doc today and we get to go home!
The white crescent shape on his earside is fluid in his eye!
