Monday night Leo was again having PVCs which is an unusual heartbeat and can be a sign that the PICC line is in too far or the electrolytes are off balance. They did a stat chest x-ray to check the PICC but didn't find anything. During rounds they decided Leo should not really need the PICC line to draw more labs and the risks of infection were now outweighing the benefit of having the access. So they took out the line! It is so great to see his naked little arm again :). It is one step closer to going home. I do worry they will find a need for blood and have to stick him, but let's pray not!
We had an overall uneventful weekend. Leo continued to do well on Trach collars and is up to 11 hours today! We did have an unpleasant reality check. One of Leo's roommates was scheduled to go home today, but 2 nurses quit over the weekend (before they ever actually started) and now the family has no idea when they go home. They are interviewing a night nurse for us today. Let's pray she works out and we keep our 5/13 date.
Mom was out of town today for a dentist appointment and Sammie came up with me to see Leo. We took a break and went to Monkey Joe's which has a ton of inflatable jumpers. She had a blast! She is fearless and showing up the 4 year olds on the slides. She was a little out if control in Leo's room so we hope to just get us all home soon!

That better NOT be MY Granddaughter laying in a lump at the bottom of that pit! You Go Leo and I am praying that you never need those IV's again....G-Ma Helen
