After two long months Sammie finally got to visit Leo! She has been consistently asking about him and the visitor restrictions for flu season were finally lifted so we brought her up on Saturday. We took a mini family vacation and stayed at one of the hospital discounted hotels. Sammie did really well in Leo's room and ate up the attention from nurses. I think she was considering moving into Leo's room because she loved the unlimited snacks and movies on TV. She didn't have to endure the bad part Leo goes through of lots of poking and wires. Overall it was an awesome reunion and Sammie gave Leo lots of love. It was so special to have my family in one room again.
Sammie loved the swimming pool at the hotel. She is our little fish. We made several trips back and forth between the hotel and hospital to keep Sammie in good spirits.
Overall on Leo there is not much to report. They continue to slowly increase his trach collar trials and he is doing really well on them. I wish they would go faster, but they don't want to rock the boat so close to going home. We think it will still be about 3 weeks before we are released. A call with our nursing hours should be coming any day now.
Well thus made me tear up with happiness. So glad Leo got his big sis back! They need to be together!
