After 51 days in the NICU, we are finally home! The last 48 hours have been extremely exhausting preparing for Leo to come home. What we thought would take weeks quickly turned to a few days. I have been frantically trying to get things ready at home while Kate has been working on the long list of discharge items at the hospital. We were very fortunate to have our favorite nurse working today to help us make sure we had everything we needed to take on this challenge at home. We are so happy to finally be home together as a family.
So far, Leo has done well at home. The car ride from Peoria, which is just about an hour, went smooth. Leo's stats have been good so far. The biggest challenge so far has been entertaining Sammie while trying to take care of Leo at the same time. Definitely a two person job.
