3/23 - moving in the right direction

Part of the state waiver program includes a state hired nurse coming to the hospital to evaluate Leo's needs. This evaluation impacts how many nursing hours we will be approved for. Friday they called and the nurse is coming on Wednesday. We might have our hours approved about a week later. We could be heading home in 2-3 weeks. It has been about 7 so far.

Leo did great in his 12 hour cpap trial today. After doing this for 2 more days, Leo will move to Trach collar trials. This means instead of receiving pressure to keep his Trach open, Leo will just get oxygen through the tubing.

In the morning Leo has his last X-ray for chylo testing. He will be up to 24 ounces of breast milk per day from judt 16 a week ago. Fingers crossed that his x-ray looks good!

Today we had a wonderful surprise visit from my cousins Bob and Tina Carter. We spent Saturday night at the Ory's celebrating Brennen's 5th birthday. It was great to see do many Heyworthians! We are continuing to work on the potty...
