2/7 - quick update - EEG

Leo's new Neuro stopped by today and said she wanted to get an EEG to test brain wave activity. When he first got stabilized yesterday he had some shaking that they didn't think was a seizure but was odd. She said since he was here and never had an EEG it wouldn't hurt to get one while he is already partially sedated with pain meds. She said she expected his brainwaves to be slow due to the pain meds. Of course I'm fearing seizures or worse. Today she stopped by with good results! No evidence of seizures and his brain is maturing at the appropriate rate. His waves were slow, but she said from the beginning she expected that result with his meds. Below is Leo during the test with the electrodes. Again I was happy we made the effort to get a new Neurologist who is going these kinds of things.

His new blood thinner is working and the PICC is in. We just hope it stays there! His foot still doesn't have a pulse but is looking better. It is warmer and better coloring. He is continuing to ween on the vent and I have the Olympics on because the PICU unlike the NICU has tv!
