11/24 (Sunday) - Gearing up for a big day!

We had a good weekend. Leo's doctors just wanted him to continue to improve his breathing and allow time for the chylothorax to heal. He is currently on the lowest support level setting on his CPAP breathing machine. The next step is nasal cannula oxygen support. I'm not 100% sure, but I picture this to be like the oxygen support you see adults with respiratory issues caring around Walmart. His weekend x-rays have shown continued improvement and today they recorded no drainage from his chest tube.  Tomorrow he is scheduled for the esphogram test to see if his TE fistula repair was successful.  If it leaks, our understanding is the current course of treatment would be just additional healing time without food in his esophagus. I feel like Leo's pain meds are currently at a good spot.  After a few restless nights of him being agitated and crying out in his sweet little whimpering voice they increased his medicine. To me, he seems to be sleeping soundly and enjoying awake time looking at us while we talk to him.

Leo was blessed with lots of visitors this weekend. Uncle Dave and Aunt Brandy were followed on Sunday by Grandma Helen and Aunt "TT" as Sammie likes to say. I got to spend lots of time with Sammie on Saturday and Dad his home now.

Most people post pictures of their babies in new cute little outfits. For Leo we just change out his wires and tubing. In these pics Leo is sporting his nasal oxygen instead of the ventilator down his throat!
